Duties:
The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz invites applications for the following position: Operations Manager for the Institute for Disaster Mental Health (IDMH). IDMH works to ensure that all those impacted by disasters and traumatic events have access to the mental health support they need. We do this by engaging with a variety of local, state, national, and international agencies to respond to identified needs in the field. We also oversee two academic programs and provide training, programming, and resource development, and host a number of training events, including an annual conference. We are looking for someone to join our team and contribute to our mission through the crucial role of managing our operations. Duties for this role include but are not limited to:
- Oversees the planning and implementation of programs and activities including but not limited to Annual conferences and Weekly/monthly training workshops
- Oversees the planning, implementation, and monitoring of communications and marketing for
the division - Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant applications and reports including Federal grants (SAMHSA, etc), State agency grants including OMH, DOH, DHSES, and Ovs.
- Research other grant opportunities and RFPs that become available
- Liaison with other campus units for internal university processes
- Maintaining the office budgets
- Coordinate in the planning and preparation of budget requests
- Perform routine monthly reconciliation and financial reports and analyses across
multiple accounts - Serve as liaison between the Executive Director and Sponsored Programs and the SUNYNP Foundation in managing budgets for externally funded projects
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree, or an Associate's Degree with minimum three years' relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and associated timelines
- Ability to manage complex projects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Prior experience in office administration
- Prior experience in a mental health-related environment
- Prior experience managing budgets and financial reports
- Prior experience with event planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite
