Duties:
The Biology department at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz is seeking a full time, tenure-track assistant professor with a specialty in Cell Biology, to start August 2024. Candidates who bring a unique range of cultural experience and who are especially qualified to mentor and advise all members of our diverse student population are especially encouraged to apply. SUNY New Paltz is a primarily undergraduate institution. As such, teaching will comprise the majority of the duties of this position. Other duties for this role include but are not limited to:

- Teach three course equivalents per semester.
- Teaching duties will be a mix of undergraduate courses at different levels in our curriculum, including Cell Biology, Genetics, and other courses as required by the needs of the department, including upper-level courses in the candidate's specialty.
- Engage in advising and service and to develop a productive research program that integrates New Paltz undergraduates (and also complies with SUNY New Paltz animal use policies: https://www.newpaltz.edu/sponsored_programs-test/compliance/animal-use-committee/
Qualifications:
Required:
- PhD in a relevant field (ABD candidates with a firm completion date will also be considered)
- Passion to teach and perform research with undergraduate students
Preferred:
- Post-doctoral or visiting assistant professor experience
