The School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University has an immediate opening for a Research Support Specialist position in the K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Institute on Employment and Disability in the Extension/Outreach Division. This position provides research and program evaluation support for externally-funded development projects in the K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Institute on Employment and Disability (YTI), which is a research, extended education and technical assistance program of a national and regional scope that provides research, information and training on disability and the workplace.
This Research Support Specialist position will be engaged in research projects focused on developing new knowledge about employer practices that the support full inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Research and evaluation, project design and implementation, and reporting. -Specifically, work will include engaging program staff and participants in planning, designing and implementing of program research activities. -Conducting data collection and data analysis. -Supporting quarterly and annual funder reporting requirements. -Developing useful mechanisms for sharing findings. -Assisting in the management of grant-funded research projects. -Contributing to research plan development. -Collaborating with team members on the preparation and submission of proposals, research reports and manuscripts for publication. -Presentations for conferences and periodic training. -Contributing to unit-wide and specific project discussions on research approaches and collaboration on development of training and informational materials.

Bachelor's degree and three to five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination
Three to four years of experience with mixed-methods research approaches.
Experience with survey development and implementation.
Experience with data collection via interviews and focus groups.
Proven expertise in qualitative data analysis.
Proven expertise in basic statistical data analysis and mangement, using R, SAS, SPSS, Stata or other statistical software.
Experience in conducting literature reviews with related databases.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to the writing of research reports and manuscripts for publication.
Proven ability to learn different software packages.
Master's degree in related field.
Experience in social science or applied research, rehabilitation counseling, human resources, disability studies, program evaluation, or related discipline strongly preferred.
Four to five years of experience in a research and/or program evaluation environment.
Prior experience with sponsored funding/grant writing process.
Prior project management experience.
Experience working in a team environment, providing collaborative input and contributing support to creative database projects
Demonstrated ability to train and do presentations.
