Detailed Job Description This position is responsible for planning and implementing servers, networks, desktops, laptops, labs and related infrastructure for the Golisano College of Computing. This position will be a member of a team of that is responsible for the technology operations for the college. Being able to work effectively with other team members and with the college faculty & staff community is very important. The individual will be responsible for architecting, implementing and maintaining the college's systems and network infrastructure as well as other duties as assigned. This requires the ability to research technologies, troubleshoot systems and networks for both software & hardware related issues. This position requires knowledge of the following systems technologies: Linux, Windows, VMware, and Apple products. In addition, the following are desired skills:
Microsoft Active Directory
Networking (switches, firewalls)
Implement application orchestration for building out software (e.g. ansible, DevOps)
Build, optimize, and maintain software packages for end-users/researchers
User education (documentation, training)
Workflow optimization (suggested approaches, tools, and debugging)
Software development support

Required Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in computing or related field with 5 years of experience preferred.
Experience: 5 years of experience.
Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Advanced knowledge and experience with virtualization.
Advanced knowledge and experience in diagnostics/troubleshooting operating system issues. Advanced knowledge and experience in diagnostics/troubleshooting networking and infrastructure issues.
Advanced knowledge and experience with networking equipment- switches, firewalls.
Knowledge and experience with common services and protocols such as; HTTP, SSL, DNS, SMTP, DHCP, LDAP, and SNMP.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and assignments.
Ability to plan and schedule major maintenance and upgrade tasks.
Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the overall goals of the team.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to work on complex technical problems.
