Detailed Job Description The Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition seeks a full-time Research Assistant to support a clinical trial examining the effect of a behavioral lifestyle intervention on remission (reversal) of metabolic syndrome. Under supervision of the Research Project Coordinator, the Research Assistant will conduct, in a rigorous and effective manner, screening, recruitment, and assessments on the research participants. The assessments will include surveys, anthropometric measurements, blood sampling, nutrition analysis, and physical activity testing using accelerometer technology. Additionally, this role will assist in the recruitment of participants by creating ads, flyers and presenting the clinical trial overview to interested groups. The duties will also include handling various administrative tasks in the study.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in health or science related field
Experience conducting structured interviews or other forms of data collection
Experience working in health-related environment
Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with a variety of individuals in a professional manner
Must understand and maintain discretion and confidentiality related to all aspects of the study
Must have excellent organizational skills, be self-directed, be persistent and have an ability to coordinate schedules with study participants
PLEASE NOTE: The individual hired for this position will be required to have a pre-employment Motor Vehicle check, and the Motor Vehicle Report must clear RIT's Safe Driving Policy (please refer to page 4)
