Reporting to the Vice President for the Student Experience, the Associate Vice President for Student Engagement (AVP) is a strategic partner within the Division of Enrollment and the Student Experience (ESE) with a focus on enhancing the student experience and increasing student engagement. The AVP is student-centered and provides leadership and oversight to the following departments: Office of Multicultural Affairs, Slutzker Center for International Services, LGBT Resource Center, Disability Cultural Center, Student Activities, Student Centers and Programming Services, and Fraternity and Sorority Affairs. With a sharp focus on student development and a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, the AVP provides leadership and vision for student engagement to create an unsurpassed experience for all Syracuse University students. The AVP provides focused leadership and programmatic oversight for reporting units ensuring a vibrant, safe, engaging and educational environment for students. The AVP plays a pivotal role with student success by working collaboratively and creatively with the entire campus community to bring a sense of vision and cohesion to student engagement. The AVP serves as a champion for creating a vibrant fraternity and sorority life system that is inclusive, engaged, and values-centered. The AVP provides visionary leadership for the newly renovated Schine Student Center and the Goldstein Student Center, working with colleagues to ensure that the centers are vibrant, responsive to student needs, and serve the hub for student life on campus.
