Coordinator of Intramurals and Club Sports
The College at Brockport Reporting to the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation, the Coordinator of Intramurals and Club Sports has primary responsibility for the overall supervision and implementation of a comprehensive intramurals and club sports program. This position is a full-time, 12 month position and is available immediately.
This position is vital to the continuation and enhancement of intramurals and club sports which serves over 20% of the student body. Currently, there are 24 club sports, with approximately 1000 active student members. The Coordinator directly supervises over 30 student employees and 2 Graduate Assistants. The Coordinator will hire, train, schedule and evaluate student employees. They will develop and supervise a comprehensive Intramural Sports program with leagues, tournaments, and one-day events. Assist in the scheduling of facilities and coordination of all intramural leagues and tournaments. The Coordinator will supervise Club Sports teams, officers and coaches; scheduling facilities and staffing for activities and overseeing participant and team adherence to program requirements and policies. They will advise and mentor the officers of clubs while assisting in completing their business.
Responsible for direct supervision of student staff, including 2-3 student supervisors for intramurals and club sports. Coordinate the hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation of student employees. Develop and supervise a comprehensive Intramural Sports program with leagues, tournaments, and one-day events. Assist in the scheduling of facilities and coordination of all intramural leagues and tournaments. Conduct official's clinics for intramural sport programming. Supervise Club Sports teams, officers and coaches; scheduling facilities and staffing for activities and overseeing participant and team adherence to program requirements and policies. Maintain communication with all participants to address their needs. Coordinate all club financial transactions. Maintain highly detailed and up-to-date records on all club finances. Be available to meet with clubs to assist with budget questions and needs. Serve as the Advisor for the Club Sport Executive Committee and Advisory Council. Maintain all active club records including overall practices/competition schedules, contacts (club officers, coaches, instructors, facilities, staff, etc.), participation, club rosters, travel itineraries, etc. Assist with advising and mentoring the officers of clubs to assist in completing their business. Provide guidance and leadership for two Graduate Assistants. Provide budgetary recommendations, quarterly and yearly updates, and annual projections for all programs. Manages annual budget of approximately $150,000. Assist in the identification and correction of risk management related issues. Represent the department on assigned committees. Assist with department, division and campus-wide programs and initiatives. Develop and implement operating policies, procedures, standards, risk management procedures, manuals and training for intramurals and club sports. Plan, develop, promote, implement, assess and evaluate events and programs related to the area of intramurals and club sports. Develop new programs and activities that serve students' needs, fosters student learning, encourages and promotes diversity, and builds campus community, interest and pride. Develop marketing strategies, promotional materials and social media content in collaboration with Marketing and Communications GA. Position includes working some weekend and evening hours.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, Recreation or related field accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization; previous professional experience in college/university intramurals and/or club sports (Graduate Assistant experience accepted); strong interpersonal, motivational, communication and relational skills; ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population; computer proficiency to prepare marketing information, budgets, reports, and programming materials; must be able to be First Aid, CPR/AED Instructor Certified within six months of employment
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, Recreation or related field accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization; CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor Certified; full-time experience working in a collegiate recreation setting; experience working with websites and software packages (IM Leagues, CollegiateLink, Fusion, Reach, SubItUP); active member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) or equivalent in a closely related professional organization
