I. Summary: The mission of Hidden Valley 4-H Camp is to provide youth with a fun, residential camp experience under the guidance of positive role models that emphasize community building, positive social interactions, environmental awareness and skill building.
II. Duration The Assistant Kitchen Manager includes 1 week of pre-camp staff training and 5 weeks of residential camp that run from Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon each week. Specific dates camp is open are July 5 -August 9, 2019. The Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager in the camp's kitchen facility. The Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for helping with the cleaning, opening and closing of the camp's kitchen facility.
III. Specific Responsibilities
Cook and serve meals efficiently
Care and cleaning of kitchen equipment and facility
Assist Kitchen Manager when needed during the camp day.
Supervise kitchen staff with professionalism when Kitchen Manager is off duty
Assist in filling requisition requests for special meals and weekend stayover meals
Support and embrace diversity in all interactions with campers, other staff members, volunteers and parents. Implement programs that engage diverse backgrounds, interests and learning styles.
Other duties may be assigned as required
18 years of age or previous experience as an assistant cook.
Experience with food management and large quantity cooking.
Willingness and ability to be flexible to adjust to camp resources, conditions and programming.
