Provides expertise in engineering, design, installation and start-up of Building Automation Engineer. Assists Building Automation Supervisor or designee in problem solving with regards to the automation systems. Assists in the validation of process and facility automation. Under the direction of the Building Automation Supervisor or designee, performs commissioning of mechanical systems controlled by the BAS. Completes maintenance task of BAS applications and is responsible for quality workmanship of DDC controls installations for projects assigned.
As the Building Automation Engineer you will:
Perform checkout of hardware and software points to ensure reliable performance of the BAS.
Possess strong problem solving, organizational and prioritization skills and manage multiple projects.
Complete maintenance tasks on building automation system as required.
Complete commissioning as required by the specification for the projects assigned.
Modify, adjust and develop software routines as necessary.
Provide software as-built flow diagrams for documentation close out purposes.
Prepare the input/output points list as needed to engineer equipment monitoring and/or control. Complete final critical adjustments and calibration on automation systems.
Respond to emergency service calls as requested.
Deliver technical support to operators and others when applicable.
Train HVAC personal on the proper trouble shooting techniques to determine if the problem is controls related.
Make recommendations to managers regarding changes, improvements or installation of automation system components.
Strong computer skills required particularly on the WebCTRL core and related editors (i.e. Equipment Builder and View Builder).
Experience on mechanical (HVAC) systems, DDC controls. Pneumatics and Electrical mechanical controls.
Responsible for quality control of installations of hardware and software by subcontractors to the BAS.
Ability to interpret blue prints, specifications, schematic drawings, and technical manuals.
