The Department of Physics at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a one-year position with the possibility of a renewal for a second year as a visiting full-time faculty. The appointment will begin August 2019. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching at the introductory and advanced levels, in both classroom and laboratory settings. Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 course-equivalents each semester and are eligible for travel support and reimbursement of relocation costs within the College's published policies. Some internal research funds are available for scholarly work. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full benefits. The Department may do a tenure-track search in 2020. At that time, visiting faculty is welcome to apply and will receive full consideration.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field. Completion (preferred) or near completion of a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field is required. Prior teaching experience is desirable.
