The Department of Philosophy at Davidson College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professorship, with a start date of July1, 2019. This is a two-year position with the possibility of renewal for a third year. AOS and AOC are open. Some teaching in the college Writing Program is required, starting in the second year of appointment. Completion or imminent completion of the Ph.D. in philosophy is required. Candidates must be committed to outstanding teaching and continuing scholarly activity within a liberal arts context. The teaching load is 5 semester courses per year. No committee work or summer teaching. Undergraduate thesis supervision is possible.
