Tufts University is located across four campuses comprised of approximately 250 buildings totaling 5.5 million gross square feet of space. The Medford/Somerville campus is the home to the schools of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and the Fletcher School of Diplomacy. The Health Sciences Campus in Boston is home the schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine, the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, and the Friedman School of Nutrition. The School of the Museum of Fine Arts is located in the Boston Fenway and the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine is in Grafton. Campus and Capital Renewal Planning (Planning), within Tufts' Operations Division, supports the goals of the university through the development of both near- and long-term plans that enable the strategic use of space and land. Tufts' Planning is the principal repository for information on university buildings, land, and space: spatial data; floor plans; maps; site surveys; master plans; and planning studies.
The Property Information Analyst reports to the Director of Campus and Capital Renewal Planning (Planning) and works in close collaboration with the planners within the department as well as with colleagues in Operations – Capital Programs, Real Estate, Facilities, and Finance – and across the university – Deans' offices, Institutional Research, Tufts Technology Services, and Registrars. This high-visibility position functions with minimal supervision and requires a combination of both communication and technical skills. Data analyses, particularly but not limited to Excel, is a high priority given the reporting responsibilities, the need to produce materials for multiple audiences including university leadership, and the frequency of data queries from within and outside the university. Operating with a high level of autonomy, the position is solely responsible for accuracy, collection, management, archival, and dissemination of Tufts' property data – primarily spatial data and floor plans but also maps, surveys, architectural models, and studies. Project and personnel management skills are helpful in the production of materials, often developed by student interns, and when leading planning initiatives related to spatial data. The position is the primary support staff for Tufts' new Space Planning and Advisory Committee (SPACe), a governance entity with cross-school membership tasked with creating university policies to foster collaboration in space use, improve space utilization, and increased consistency in practice.
Education: Bachelors' degree in business, math, architecture, building construction, planning, library science, or comparable
Technical skills: excellence in Excel as analytical tool; familiarity with CAFM systems, architectural software, PeopleSoft, web management
Experience: 10 years experience with increasing responsibility for space documentation management, data analyses, reporting, and presentations to a variety of audiences, preferably in a campus planning environment
Education: same as minimum
Technical skills: demonstrated proficiency in CAFM systems, CADD, Revit, PeopleSoft, web management, and/or room reservation systems
Experience: leading or participating on space governance committees, setting agendas and creating presentations for leadership meetings
