The Department of Political Science at Colgate University seeks to fill one or two one-year positions in international relations and comparative politics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. Both appointments begin in the fall of 2019. Candidates should be able to teach introductory courses in international relations or comparative politics, as well as more advanced courses in the candidates’ areas of interest. Specialization is open but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: theories of international relations and/or the politics of Africa, China, or Latin America. The teaching load is five courses over two semesters. Evidence of teaching excellence is essential. Completion of Ph.D. is preferred prior to, or shortly after, the date of hire.
