Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program College of Education
Position:The College of Education and MAT Program invites applications for a non-tenure track, 10- month Lecturer/Professional Development School (PDS) liaison position.
Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree in secondary education or related field; expertise in curriculum, instruction and supervision and a strong commitment to the teaching and mentoring of pre-service teachers and continuing professionals. Leadership skills to collaborate with the program director, faculty and professional development partners. Commitment to collaboration with public schools.
Enthusiasm for working with graduate students who are pursuing initial teacher certification, have bachelor’s degrees in a non-related field and are seeking to enter the field of education.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience teaching secondary education in the public school setting; higher education and supervision/leadership experience.
Responsibilities: Teach a 12-credit course load each semester, including a combination of undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in secondary education at on-campus and off-campus locations. Serve as Professional Development School Liaison to coordinate PDS activities at identified schools.
Arrange internships and supervise interns in schools as needed. Collaborate with Professional Development Schools and agencies in the surrounding communities.
