In concert with the VP University Relations and the Director of Communications, this position provides leadership and direction for all aspects of marketing and communications. The Director of Marketing leads the development and execution of marketing strategies both for internal and external audiences that align with Lindenwood’s mission and effectively advance the four strategic plan themes. This position will be essential to the University efforts around strategic marketing, message strategy, and execution, including building brand awareness, consistency and alignment.
Develops editorial strategy and content development; formally and informally lead a team of content creators to leverage consistency and adherence to core messaging for internal and external audiences
Directs all aspects of the marketing, graphic design, photography and videography, stewardship of the brand, and development of messaging that increase awareness and enhance the reputation of the University’s programs and initiatives
Collaborates with the Director of Communication’s to coordinate public relations, media outreach, publications, and website management as it relates to marketing initiatives
Develops and monitors annual marketing budget in alignment with the strategic plan
Administers the University’s branding/graphic design standards and collaborates with the Director of Communication to ensure our standards accurately applied throughout the University
Creates marketing campaigns with the development team that will enhance alumni and community relations and support fundraising efforts.
Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business, management, marketing, or related field
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in marketing strategy and execution required
Master’s degree preferred
