Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a full-time Operating Engineer with Physical Plant.

This position will operate and maintain campus boilers and steam distribution systems, chillers and chilled water distribution systems, and Building Management Systems. Operate and maintain the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in all college facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain steam boilers and steam distribution system according to code.
Operate and maintain campus chillers and chilled water distribution system.
Operate and maintain campus Building Management Systems.
Operate and maintain various HVAC systems in all campus buildings.
Order and maintain HVAC supply inventory.
Maintain record of records of time, labor, materials and inventories.
Submit work progress reports when required.
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment according to OSHA standards in order to minimize safety hazards and accidents.
Assist other operating engineers in completing work assignments as time permits.
Demonstrate an ability to remain current on changing job responsibilities and procedures.
Interact with college community in a friendly and cooperative manner which contributes to a positive working climate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School degree or equivalent.
Three years HVAC and boiler operating experience
Minnesota Operating Engineer, 1st Class C, License.
Graduate of vocational-technical college HVAC program.
Three years of experience in giving work direction to others.
Exposure to outside weather conditions year-round.
Works with potentially hazardous chemicals and equipment.
Works on ladders, scaffold and roofs.
Regular work requires moderate to heavy physical effort, including lifting as much as 75 lbs.
