Summary of Position: The successful candidate will work at the rank of Assistant/ Associate Professor, depending on experience, and will have the opportunity to build a stellar graduate program as well as helping to continue a flagship undergraduate program. The department is housed in a new building with state-of-the-art research and clinical equipment (Computerized Speech Lab, Nasometer, Visi-Pitch, AAC devices, Ipads etc.). Appointment to this 10 month full-time tenure track position to begin Fall 2016.THE DEPARTMENT Communication Disorders and Sciences is home to over 300 students (both graduate and undergraduate) and offers a well-equipped computer lab and audiology suite. Faculty are engaged in research and other scholarly activities at the local, state and national levels. Mentoring in the development of a funded research agenda is also provided.
Major Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in area of expertise, research, clinical supervision, advisement, and service.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in speech-language pathology/communication disorders or related field. ABD with work initiated on dissertation with a designated completion date within 12 months of start date will be considered. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
Preferred Qualifications: Eligibility for NYS licensure. Applicants with expertise in the areas of child language, adult language/ neurology, articulation and phonology, AAC, and research methods are encouraged to apply, but all areas of expertise will be considered. Multiple areas of expertise are preferred.
