Department/College Description The College: The B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences is the largest of RITs nine colleges and has an enrollment of over 3,100 undergraduate students and 850 graduate students. The college, with over 140 faculty members, is housed in a modern facility equipped with numerous teaching and research laboratories. The college is home to the departments of Computer Science, Computing Security, Information Sciences and Technologies, Software Engineering, the School of Interactive Games and Media, and a college-wide Ph.D. program, providing many opportunities for cooperation and research collaboration within and beyond the college.
The Department: The Information Sciences & Technologies Department (IST) is one of six administrative units within the College of Computing and Information Sciences, and oversees academic and curricula development for both undergraduate and graduate students, pursuing degrees in three undergraduate BS programs, four graduate programs, and two advanced certificate programs. The IST department provides leadership, administrative, financial, and logistical support to more than 700 undergraduate and graduate students with 30 faculty and 6 staff in Rochester, and provides support of the departments degrees at RITs global campuses in Croatia and UAE. The department demonstrates the universitys commitment to the teacher-scholar model; it is among the university leaders in terms of grant generation and publications and the faculty consists of several teaching award winners and professional service leaders, including ACM president, and ACM SIG chairs. The department is also home to several labs and research centers, including the Center for Accessibility and Inclusion Research, and the Data Acquisition and Analytics Lab. The department is also among the university leaders in online delivery of degree programs and engagement with RITs global campuses.
Detailed Job Description
The Department of Information Sciences and Technologies at RIT invites applications for a Lecturer position, beginning fall 2019. The successful candidate will be able to teach a broad range of courses in basic and advanced programming. In particular, we seek candidates who can demonstrate knowledge and experience with most or all of the following languages:
Basic Java, C#, and PHP
Production of web services using C#, Java, and PHP
System administration scripting with Python and Bash

Required Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Ability to contribute to the curriculum
Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching
Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the colleges continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
